Anyway, one day David was rummaging through my files of 'decoupage to do', obviously this was between horse races; and decided he'd have a go, & actually he's not a bad 'cutter outerer', he's completed a few projects of his own using the foam pads that I started out with before I discovered the merits of silicone.
Now before anyone jumps up & down saying that foam pads are better than silicone or visa versa let me say that I think they're both useful & I use both, sometimes on the same project, especially if it's a particularly layered one. Then I use foam pads on the bottom layers & silicone where I want some shape on the higher layers.
These days David mostly cuts out the decoupage for me. He then arrives at my 'all important' craft table; yes I've got one of those at the caravan too [ok, so it's the dining table] with envelopes full of his cut out bits. I neaten the edges a bit [shhh, we won't tell him that], feather bits if it's necessary & then assemble three or four projects at the same time ready for when I'm in an actual 'card making mood'.
I've lost count of the times I've found stray baubles & pieces of scarf etc. in the wrong envelope, only to realise that I've then got to prise bits of decoupage apart as the found bits should have been at least two layers down. Yes, I agree I should leave them off but I can't, once I know that they exist then I have to use them.
Completely changing the subject from decoupage; whilst we were at home this time I made a card for my favourite brother-in-law, another gifts shaped one, hmm, that's three I've done with that template...

I don't want to do too many similar or members of my family [sister] will have something to say about it, then again she has something to say about everything. She checked my blog last night & left a comment at 'slide' suggesting I get a job. I replied that she was just jealous because she's got to work in a bank to be able to afford to keep me in my dotage... I've invented a new type of 'living will', she inherits me when I'm old & crumbly, then a couple of years later my niece inherits us both.
We're going back to the caravan this week & so is my new all in one printer AND!! other essential equipment for doing some decoupage, you can guarantee it'll rain, it snowed at Easter when we were there so I spent quite a while hanging through the windows taking photographs. It was suggested by my other half that I put on my new waterproof trainers & actually go outside in them to take photo's of snowy things + the wildlife. I patiently explained to him that I couldn't possibly go out in them as I didn't want to get them wet as they were new, I mean really new!!
The only occasion I did wear them, I carried them to the car & put them on when I got there, meanwhile getting my black leather boots wet & muddy - but they weren't new so that didn't count. Why don't men understand this reasoning? ... Or is it just me that's a bit odd?
